April 02, 2021 THE Social Security System (SSS) announced that the mandatory use of payment reference number (PRN) for short-term loan payments was moved to May 1 from its April 1 schedule.
SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Aurora Ignacio said the management approved the one-month extension to provide members and employers extra time to create their My.SSS accounts, update contact information, as well as review their loan information.
“We wanted to make sure that our stakeholders are ready to comply with our upcoming procedural and system changes so that they can also benefit from this program and realize its importance,” Ignacio said.

The prime minister has allowed Vietcombank to provide a loan exceeding the statutory ceiling for Electricity of Vietnam to develop Quang Trach 1 Thermal Power Plant.

Quang Trach 1 Thermal Power, invested by Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), has a total investment capital of VND42.02 trillion ($1.83 billion). It will require loans of VND27.1 trillion ($1.18 billion), which will be arranged by Vietcombank after Vietinbank, BIDV, and Agribank have withdrawn.
Previously, EVN has been hard-pressed to mobilise loans because according to regulations, Vietcombank cannot issue loans exceeding 15 per cent of its equity. Meanwhile, EVN cannot mobilise loans exceeding 25 per cent of its equity, imposing an upper limit of VND37.4 t
The New Braunfels Public Library will begin extending the loan periods on some types of library materials starting Monday.
Books, audiobooks and compact discs will move from a three-week initial checkout to a four-week checkout with one renewal.Â
Additionally, DVDs and Blu-rays will move to a two-week initial checkout with two renewals from the original one-week initial checkout period.
New books and new audiobooks will keep their two-week initial checkout period with two renewals.
Library Director Gretchen Pruett said the changes in loan periods are intended to streamline the amount of time different types of materials can be checked out.Â
